Satin Shorts
One of my favorite summer looks to date. As soon as I saw these satin shorts, I knew they’d be an effortless addition to my wardrobe. Over the last year, I’ve noticed myself gravitating towards breezy pants and longer dresses over shorts in the summertime (there’s just something effortless about them) but I think that’s what pulled me in. They’re classic yet feminine. Polished yet relaxed. Equal parts chic, comfy and effortless…and like pajamas honestly. They’re just the style to try when you’re feeling a bit “over” your denim shorts.
I also noticed these are currently on sale for 40% off (snag an additional 10% when you sign up for emails), so I had to share. Personally, I justified paying full price because: I’ll spend just as much on my favorite pair of jeans, why not shorts I love? Also, why do denim shorts always lead to so much tugging and fussing?
Honestly, the older I get, the more comfortable I feel with a “less is more” and “quality over quantity” approach. Less fussing, fewer items, fewer things. And to me, these fit that space for my closet.
I paired these with a comfy ruffle sleeve tee that’s been in my closet for years, slipped on a pair of easy flats and it felt like an outfit I could wear over and over. No tugging at the hem of my shorts, no pulling up the waist, no picking a denim wedgie 🙈…just comfort. I also love how these can be dressed up or down. I can’t wait to wear them with cozy sweaters and sneakers as the weather cools down.
In terms of sizing, I personally sized down one size based on reviews but don’t think I necessarily * needed * to. For reference, I’m in the xxs and normally wear a 25 in jeans (I do size down to a 24 in my AGOLDE jeans but a 25 is my “true size”). They fit great but don’t run as big as I expected them to. I also had some questions about wrinkling and from my experience, they don’t wrinkle too easily—and I even lay in bed in them!
With summer weather will be sticking around for a couple more months here, I can’t wait to get more wear out of these but I’m also positive I’ll be pulling them out year after year.
