White Sweater with Everlane Cheeky Straight Jean in Washed Black
There’s just something chic about a black and white outfit. ♥︎ ♥︎ There’s also something chic about a great pair of straight leg jeans. While I’m typically a skinny style lover, I adore relaxed fit denim to add an effortless appeal to outfits. These Everlane Cheeky Straight Leg Jeans are just that…effortless.
Made from premium Japanese denim, these have a true denim feel with just the right amount of stretch—2% to be exact! They call them their “cheeky jean” because they feature a “raised back hook seam” that lifts and tightens—something greatly appreciated in a denim style that’s more relaxed.
Everlane says this about sizing: “Women at our office like to wear them two ways: one size down for a tighter fit in the seat, or in their true size for a more relaxed fit.” and I feel this is pretty accurate. I have my true size 25 and they’re definitely a little bit roomy through the waist. I happen to like the relaxed fit but absolutely could have done a size down.
For reference, I’m 5’6” and have the regular length. You can see here I have them folded, so I think I could have done the ankle length. However, when worn full length they’re still wearable. At just $78 these are also a steal!
One thing Everlane also always does so well is a high rise. These have such a flattering rise that makes tucking a breeze. To me, when tucking comes easily, this makes any outfit feel more put together.
Comfy, faded and washed black, these are typically my “off-duty,” “cool girl” jeans but I have one final trick for making them feel a bit more feminine than frumpy. Pointed toe flats!
When I can’t get my outfit to feel “right” I swear by a pointed toe. They instantly elongate the leg line and add a polished feel to a denim style (or outfit).
I also have these jeans in the Sky Blue you can see in THIS POST! Note: I was in-between sizes then and have a size UP! Sometimes I also feel their fits vary by color, so that’s something to note, as well!
As always, thank you for reading!
