How to Wear a Fitted Off-Shoulder Top
I don’t normally gravitate towards very fitted tops but when you find one that’s flattering and doesn’t feel stuffed, you buy it. And that’s this Free People off-the-shoulder top.
Full sizing disclosure: I sized up to the medium/large thinking I’d want the extra give but it ended up being too big through the arms and shoulders, so I would definitely stick with your normal size.
This top has a really comfy, stretchy, almost jersey-like feel that makes it ultra-flattering, in my opinion. It tucks seamlessly into my high-rise jeans and gives you that effortless silhouette that’s so desirable. This one has a slight sparkle that runs through it but it comes in so many colors!
I personally find this fitted style on top pairs best with high-waisted bottoms, so you really get a slight nip at the waist from the high-rise silhouette and it helps break up the top at a flattering spot at your torso. You could also tuck into an a-line skirt or any bottoms that are baggier. Think mom jeans or maybe a pair of wide leg capris this spring and summer.
I slipped into these Marc Fisher mules that have the perfect low heel height to finish the look with my jeans. They are so comfy at just over 2 inches high and the taupe tone will pair with everything in your closet. This Free People clutch has been the perfect finishing piece for the season and I love how it also comes with a crossbody strap.
As always, thank you for reading and enjoy your spring!
x, Tyler
