Every once in a while I find a couple pieces I *have. to. have*, only to order them and realize they're a bit too short, too tight, too small, too long, too something! I am obsessed with this cozy J.O.A tie-sleeve sweater but when I put it on, I feel a bit drowned by it. Don't get me wrong—it's one of those meant-to-be-oversized styles and I love that but sometimes you just need a little more shape, especially on days when you're feeling the frumps. Is that even a word?

So...what can you do? One thing I love doing with sweaters in oversized styles is pairing them with skirts for the fall and winter seasons. This one worked perfectly to dress down my more fitted Free People skirt, making it instantly more appropriate for a casual fall day. I love the juxtaposition between cozy and fitted and the different textures and details for added interest.

If you have a looser swing skirt, I love pairing them with cropped sweaters that sometimes feel just slightly short when worn with jeans.

Slipping into over-the-knee boots is such an easy way to complete any skirt ensemble and this is my favorite pair by Steve Madden. I bought them during Black Friday last year and they're still a steal coming in at just under $100. I love the fit through the leg line and I've personally noticed very minimal slipping, which is really all I want in an OTK style.

Thanks for reading!

xx, Tyler
