Mexico Vacation and Travel Style
I hope you're all having a wonderful fall! I can't believe it's already almost November. I had a bit of a (welcome) interruption in my season with a trip to Mexico for my sister's wedding. It was an amazing trip and gorgeous wedding with family and friends and I thought I'd share a bit of my travel style with you.
One of my favorite pieces of the trip had to have been this little white romper from HER Boutique. Honestly, I'm convinced it's a wardrobe staple and can't believe I'm only just owning one. I think I wore it on the second full day of my trip and my sister actually ended up changing into it at the end of her reception, too. It was the perfect way to beat the heat (though I'm honestly still melting here) and is easy to dress up or down. I already can't wait until my next warm-weather trip to wear it.
I'm typically not a "skirt person" but I'm so happy I decided on going with a separates look for this trip. This little white swing skirt was another easy staple and is perfect for mixing and matching. I threw it on with this embroidered top for a romantic touch and these Steve Madden "WERKIT" gold gladiator sandals went with everything when I wanted something more than simple sandals. Last time I checked they were on sale and I highly suggest snagging them for next summer season.
You guys know I love a good off-the-shoulder and this one from Urban Outfitters is real, real good. It's cottony-soft and I love how you can tuck it into jeans (or shorts) for an effortless feel. I paired it with these silky shorts I bought in two colors and now that I'm back to cold, fall weather, I'm thinking they might be my pj's! I get too hot to sleep in pants even in fall and winter—anyone? I also really love this Lucky Brand crossbody that went with everything and is great for every season.
Continuing on my off-the-shoulder theme, this Free People Free to Be top was perfect with white shorts. This is the view from the backside of the building and also my sister and her husband's (!) balcony.
I wore this Topshop off the shoulder romper to the rehearsal dinner and it was a great easy-breezy piece. It's currently ON-SALE for 60% off and will be perfect for a warm-weather trip or next years summer staple.
The one top I wore the most (from travel days to thrown on with shorts to over my bikini) was this Gap Softspun Tank. It's crazy soft and perfect to knot for a relaxed look. I sized up to a large for this fit. Again, my gold gladiator sandals kind of ramped up each look and I loved the metallic touch.
Finally, my very favorite outfit I wore was my MOH dress. My sister did a mix of colors and styles in blue-grey hues and everyone looked stunning. This one is an Amsale and comes in tons of gorgeous colors—I'm already wondering if I'll be able to re-wear it at some other point in my life.
I had a lot of people ask what hotel I was staying at, but I'm lucky to have parents who own a place in Puerto Vallarta in Zona Romantica and it's such a gorgeous place. Cobblestone streets, beautiful beaches, great restaurants and amazing people. My family has never been big on all-inclusive resort-like settings and it was nice to have most of our family and friends stay in the same building with us. A lot of owners rent out their units and I highly recommend trying the Airbnb route. Let me know if any more of you have questions about the building or location.
I always try to do at least one new excursion on each trip and while I've been snorkeling there before, we went to a new location just a short 30-minute boat ride away. I also JET SKIED for my first time and loved it. We've been big fans of Vallarta Adventures for trips and adventures. Of course, the wedding was my favorite part, but all in all, it was an amazing trip and I'm already thinking about my next trip there in 2017.
Thanks for reading and following along! x Tyler
