A Look for Lunch in St. Helena
A classic summer shorts outfit for lunch at Long Meadow Ranch 〰️
Flowy and floral dresses are frequently seen in Napa (and they’re always a foolproof choice) but a pair of comfortable shorts can take you through wine country just as well.
Perfect for a cooler day or morning in wine country, I paired these pleated chino shorts with a closet staple striped sweater. This one is the Jenni Kayne Chloe Crewneck. Tip: Add a white tee (love this one) or squareneck tank (like this or this) under the striped sweater as we head into summer and it’s just an easy look—for wine country and every day.
Ballet flats add a classic feel and a straw basket tote keeps it casual for daytime + is the perfect place to stow away any souvenirs, snacks or wine bottles.
Style + Sizing notes:
I’m 5’6” and a 25 in denim.
Shorts: I was in need of a handful of new shorts in my larger size and added this pair to my collection—really love them! They’re comfortable and chic, don’t wrinkle terribly & have a tailored yet relaxed feel that’s a great option for dressing up and down. I took my current size and they’re just a tiny bit big but almost in a purposeful way. More relaxed than anything and, to me, just adds to the comfort factor. Perfect for everyday mom life this summer season and come in several classic colors.
Sweater: I have this in my usual size xs. I would refer to this as more on the “boxy” side. This has a slightly cropped fit (sits higher at the hips) and wider shaper. I think it’s true to size but, if anything, I would have preferred to size up a size or two for a more intentional oversized fit and perhaps a little more length.
