Wardrobe Staples On Sale

When I decided to “shop with intention” (i.e. fewer trends, more wardrobe staples) in January of 2019, I really began to focus on more sustainable and high-quality brands to create a closet full of items I love, wear and feel good in…across so many seasons. When I purchase classic items that last (with a slight capsule-inspired mentality), I notice I experience so much less “guilt” when I look in my closet.
If you’re new to Everlane (or even if you’re not), I wanted to round up some of my personal favorite staples that can help build a capsule wardrobe or just A closet full of classic, high-quality staples.
A note on sizing: I’m between sizes (8 and 8.5) and always size UP in shoes. When in doubt, I size down in clothing items (especially bottoms and blouses/shirts). For looser sweaters, I stick with my normal size xs for a relaxed fit. For fitted sweaters, I’ll often go with a small, especially when I know I want a slightly relaxed fit.

If you’re looking for a flat that molds to your foot and gets better and better with wear, the Day Glove flat is just that. I picked up the Caramel color last summer and they quickly became my go-to shoe for work, play and everything in between, so I added the Cream to my collection.
Note these did have a minor break-in period (for me). I had one or two wears of blistering on my heel (only on one foot 🤔) but they softened up and have been comfortable ever since.
I’m in between sizes (8 and 8.5) and have the 8.5 in these. For reference, I wear an 8 in Nike and an 8.5 in brands like Madewell and Steve Madden.

I’ve never had a pointed toe flat fit comfortably straight out of the box. These are a chic way to add a feminine touch to outfits and the pointed toe elongates the leg line. Yes, these really are comfortable. My only note would be they’re fairly long in the toe and I can see how that may bother someone who may be prone to tripping. 😅Again, I have an 8.5 and these didn’t require any breaking in.
I’m also wearing the Mesh Soft Cotton Crew Sweater and it’s the perfect lightweight option for transitioning into spring. I have the xs.
These sandals might be my favorite Everlane purchase ever. Long gone are my days of needing a chic, effortless, strappy sandal that can do it all because this is that pair. Perfect for summer date night or girls night, weddings, brunches, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and more…I have these in the color “camel” and they just go with everything. I also love how the heel is fairly low (2”) and they are comfortable enough for all-day wear. Again, I’m in the size 8.5.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may know I wear these all. the. time. I got this pair last summer and they’ve been a staple ever since. For every season.
I sized down one size in these and have the regular length. For reference, I’m 5’6”. These are meant to be cropped but do also come in a non-cropped version.
I have the color “Bone” and am wearing a 00.

I have these in a couple of colors and I have the admit—they vary a little in terms of fit. My personal favorite is the “washed black” because they have a slightly thicker, cotton feel with a little bit of stretch. Size down one size for a tighter fit or choose your normal size for a slightly relaxed “mom jean” feel. I’m wearing my normal size 25 in the regular length.
Size up for a slightly more relaxed fit. I have one color in a small and one in an xs. Both work for me (I’m normally an xs) but note they do run slightly short.
Another cashmere favorite, this cashmere tank is the perfect piece for layering. It’s just a chic “shell” or base and comes in several classic colors. I sized up one size to a small.

This puffer coat truly got me through the winter season and really became a “robe” to me. I love how it’s made of recycled down (from pillows and blankets) and feels lightweight - it keeps you warm without overheating. It’s also not overly bulky. It does run a little big. I sized down one size to the xxs.
This is a newer style to the Everlane site and it’s just the right piece to round-out an outerwear collection. It does run a little bit big. I sized down to the XXS.
I love the drapey fit that still feels sleek. This really goes with everything from denim to dresses. It also comes in classic tan.
This is one of the cardigans I’ve been living in lately and I love the unique swingy silhouette and sleeves. I’m wearing an xs.
I sized down one size in the super straight leg jeans to make them a bit more fitted (wearing a size 24). I love the high rise on these and they’re under $100. I think you could get away with your normal size for a looser, mom jean fit.
I have this little bag in two colors and it’s such a great everyday style. Everlane bags are very high-quality and made from 100% Italian leather. This is a great mini option that’s not too mini and I love the sporty yet classic style.
This is a great staple for the colder months and cozying up at home right now. I’m in the xs and also have the classic cashmere turtleneck in navy which I think is gives off a chic, Parisian vibe.
With the weather warming up and hopefully staying that way, I wanted to include these shorts. I love the high rise and classic fit. I did size down one size but think I would have been okay in my normal size. These come in a few colors.
Another warm-weather favorite, this jumpsuit comes in a few colors, including classic black. I have both and loved slipping into them last summer. The black is very classic and can be dressed up so easily, which I love.
I have my normal size and am wearing a 0.
