With the season warming up and our trip to Mexico around the corner, I’ve been doing a little bit of vacation shopping and wanted to share some of my personal favorite, must-have finds. While I always seem to gravitate more towards trendy, feminine, flirty pieces in the warmer months, I’ve been trying to keep my wardrobe classic and want my vacation wardrobe to also reflect that as much as possible. Below are six of my must-have, vacation essentials for any warm weather trip!
No.1 Beach and Pool Coverup
Sure, you can throw shorts on over your bikini or one-piece before you hit the beach or pool but is there anything more effortless and pretty than a chic, sheer coverup? I think not. I love having a maxi length style you can use to shield your skin from the sun in a pinch!
No.2 Tank Bodysuit
An easy style to pair with shorts and skirts for a chic and effortless look is the bodysuit. These tank styles are both comfy and sleek and really work well with everything. Tip: You can also use a one-piece suit the same way!
No.3 Breezy Shorts
Light and airy is the name of the game for any warm-weather vacation. I always pack a pair of breezy, cotton or linen shorts I can toss on with a tank or tee—or even pair with a sweater for a cooler evening!
No.4 Denim Shorts
Denim shorts are something I don’t skimp on. I personally love a high rise with a little extra length at the rear and will invest in styles that fit, are flattering and last. These Levi’s wedgie shorts are one of my favorite pairs.
No.5 Comfy Slide Sandals
Whether slipping on before heading to the pool/beach or if you’re doing a day of walking, a comfy pair of sandals is a non-negotiable. This pair walked me all over Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with absolutely no break-in needed. They go with absolutely everything and have the perfect amount of support.
No.6 Sarong
Another pool essential, you can wear a sarong over a bikini or one-piece whether you’re enjoying a magazine, your favorite book or a good cocktail. ;) Toss on a straw hat and sandals and you’re set!
