Striped Button Down with Moto Jacket
Tariq and I went out for dinner and drinks on Friday and it was SO damn windy (and just a little bit freezing), so I’d like to apologize in advance for these…um, very winded, slightly blurry, kind of funny-faced photos. I swear I was happy. 💁♀️
This was an incredibly easy look for an impromptu date night, made up of items most of us probably already have in our closet: the classic striped button-down (button-up?), dark wash denim, black booties and a moto/biker jacket. This look truly takes you from desk to dinner with ease. Keep a moto jacket on-hand or in your car and you can easily swap out your blazer or office cardigan.
These are one of the Topshop jeans I got in my Trunk Club (blog post coming soon) and I can’t get over the super skinny, flattering fit. Fyi, they do run a bit small/very skinny, so you may want to consider sizing UP! Here I’m wearing my normal size but easily could have gone one size up.
I know we’re heading into spring but I also highly recommend these Marc Fisher ankle boots (from my first Trunk Club) if you’re in need of a really good pair. Sometimes I’ve disliked black booties in the past for making an outfit feel…clunky? Not as sleek?…but these are a winner. They’re just cool-as-can-be and give a really sleek, chic vibe with any outfit. You guys know I’ve been all about adding higher quality wardrobe staples to my collection and these are definitely one of them.
Heading into spring, I love this exact same outfit with light wash boyfriend fit jeans (like these Levi’s), nude flats and swap out the striped shirt for crisp white! So maybe it’s not the exact same outfit but it’s an easy variation.
My exact J.Crew shirt is old (gotta love a closet staple you get years out of 🙌🏼), so I’m linking dupes!
As always, thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful week!
xx Tyler
