Our Living Room Reveal with Havenly
Our living room has finally come together beautifully with big thanks to Havenly! It was such a pleasure partnering with Havenly on this project because interior design has never come naturally to me. I tend to think I know what I like but have a very hard time making decisions and having things come together to create a complete and functional space. Let’s face it, home decisions can be some of the biggest and most expensive decisions you can make! So for years, my indecision mixed with pieces from this apartment and things from that apartment (not to mention plenty of impulsively-acquired items from Home Goods) has left me with a lot of stuff yet unfinished spaces. Case in point: our living room.
If you’re anything like me and can relate to spending two years trying to decide on a couch….and you haven’t mounted your TV because you don’t know where it should go…and you haven’t purchased a rug because you don’t know what color or what size…and you also have all this “stuff” you “omg, had to have, this will totally be the piece to complete this space!”...then let Havenly help. Seriously. They helped me finally decide on all the simple things that really were not so simple for me to decide on. And we now have a finished, functional and beautiful space we can actually enjoy—so comfortably!
So by now, you may be asking…
What is Havenly?
Havenly is an online interior design service that makes interior design incredibly accessible (and extremely affordable!) for anyone and everyone. Quite literally—Havenly is your personal interior designer! You’ll work one-on-one with your handpicked designer to fully furnish or simply put the finishing touches on your space, all remotely.
How does Havenly work?
Step One: Tell Havenly what you need! Whether you want a mini room refresh for a little extra inspiration or full room design, you’ll start by taking a quiz to determine your style preferences. From there, you’ll be matched with designers to choose from before launching a project. Once you’ve connected with your designer, you’ll share a bit about yourself and your space. This includes images, dimensions, items you may want to keep, your wishlist, Pinterest vision boards and budget—basically the works!
Step Two: Collaborate! Once your designer has an idea of your space and needs, you’ll work one-on-one with them (all online or via phone calls) to complete the space. You can really be as involved as you prefer but your designer will start by sending you a few initial idea boards to make sure they’re on the right track. You’ll have these initial ideas in as little as 2 days! From here, you have a chance to rate each mood board and even rate items they may have used, as well as suggest items you may want to see in the room.
From mood boards, you’ll move onto the concept phase! Your designer will create a concept board based on your input from the idea boards and you’ll have another chance to review, rate and provide feedback and any additional input for revisions.
You’ll be able to see a list of items used in the concept board and even have the opportunity to rate them individually. Don’t be shy expressing any concerns as best you can! Whether it’s color, texture, print, design or price.
Step Three: Layout and ordering! Once you approve your concept board, your designer creates a mockup of the items in your own space. This (to me) was the most exciting part because you finally get to see everything come to life! You have another opportunity to rate your layout and if it’s a 5-star review, you move onto ordering.
Your Havenly designer provides a shopping list of all the products used, including alternative options where applicable or available. There’s no obligation to purchase everything on the list but, when you’re ready to order, Havenly makes it so easy. There’s a built-in shopping system, so you simply add any items you want to your cart. Havenly takes care of all the shipping and returns, so it’s really hassle-free.
Final Step: Enjoy your space!
Verdict:
We’re in love! The room is altogether so much more finished, functional and presentable. One thing I also unexpectedly loved was being introduced to new brands and items I may not have found or chosen on my own. For example, we’d truly been looking for the perfect white couch for over a year and couldn’t pull the trigger on anything, which really was a roadblock for us.
We now have a comfortable space that really feels complete and (maybe for once in my life—honestly!), I don’t feel the need to run to Home Goods to see if there’s some new piece that will magically transform our space. Because Havenly did it for us. 🤗
How much does Havenly cost?
The actual design service varies depending on if you want a “Mini” or “Full” package but ranges from as low as $99-$179! You then set your budget for how much you’d like to spend on the room itself and your designer will find items within the budget you’re comfortable with.

What sofa did you purchase?
The couch was the absolute most important decision for us and I’m so glad Havenly introduced us to Maiden Home. We purchased the Warren sofa in White Linen and are completely impressed with everything from brand story to price, comfort level and quality. White was a bold choice with two dogs but it’s a performance fabric, so it’s supposed to resist spills and stains. So far, pet hair and minor paw marks have wiped away easily with a damp cloth.
Ours is the 90” sofa and it’s much deeper than our previous couch, which was a non-negotiable for us. We love the comfy cushions and how you can easily remove the back cushions and place one on either end. This basically gives you a twin-sized bed that fits two people and is amazing for naps and movie nights.

What is the paint color on your walls?
We didn’t have anything to do with the paint color but per a touch-up can we found in the garage, it’s Kelly-Moore Popular Gray.
Before and After
Before: Our space was very unfinished, unbalanced, very bland/brown/beige and had a random mix of items that were not being used as originally intended. We couldn’t make a decision on a couch and the sectional was very awkward. We couldn’t decide if we wanted to mount our TV or purchase a media cabinet so it was sitting on an entry table and we were living with an awkward orientation/layout for many months. We were constantly rearranging things and it was simply not at all functional.
After!: We finally decided on a couch with help from Havenly (yay!), figured out a proper layout that is actually functional, mounted our TV, hung art, decided on a rug, have additional seating and still have our neutral tones—yet it feels so much brighter, cohesive and functional overall.
We are thrilled with the outcome and I can’t recommend Havenly (and our designer, Sarah!) enough.
