Madewell Fall 2018 Collection - San Francisco Event
One of the things that makes fall shopping in 90-degree summer heat a little bit easier...is when you can still wear those fall styles in the summer. And the new Madewell Fall 2018 Collection nailed it. đź’Ż
I got to check out the new collection in-store at Madewell San Francisco Centre this weekend and not only was the collection amazing but so was the store, associates, everything. If you're a Madewell girl and you ever find yourself in SF, it's a must-go. We snacked on sweets and sipped box water and I shared my favorite fall finds + style tips with some amazing locals with already killer Madewell style. It's always so fun to see how others style the same pieces you know and love.
The new collection has the effortless vibe you expect from Madewell with little Southwestern-like twists. I think this makes a fall line extra wearable in terms of transitioning from summer to fall. Those vibes definitely work well with shorts and sandals to finish out a hot, hot season.
One of my favorite pieces from the collection? This Highbury Sweater Tank. This is a closet must-have that can do it all. Wear it now with your favorite shorts and skirts or layer into fall with utility jackets and long sleeve styles. I cannot wait to wear this with jeans and a black moto jacket for an edgy vibe. UPDATE! This sold out real quick but I found a great DUPE!
Here it is layered over this Madewell Surplus jacket (which is also such a must-have, wearing xxs). I am typically an XS in Madewell but went with the small in this sweater to have a bit of a relaxed fit. I was able to tuck into high-waisted denim but it looks just as perfect left untucked and still has some structure. Also comes in mustard yellow for a fall-ready spin.
Another instant favorite was this button-down cami in 'full bloom'. This print popped up in several styles (from tanks to tees to skirts) and I adore the almost moody-like fall floral. This is the perfect way to take floral with you into fall thanks to the deeper color and vibe. Another wear now, wear later piece. I sized up to a 4 in this. Try it with cutoff shorts now, layered under a blazer for work or cozied up with cardigans as the weather cools.
I will always love a great relaxed sweater and give me one with a feminine yet still effortless feel—I'm all about it. This swingy ribbed pullover kind of has the perfect relaxed fit. It's definitely swingy which gives a flirty feel but it's certainly not over the top. This is another one I can see cozying up in this season, throwing on to run errands or wearing now with shorts. Basically, I can see myself living in this. I'm wearing a small.
I get a lot of questions about denim and let me tell you—next to my Levi's, Madewell tops the list for fit, quality and feel. I already own these 9" high-rise skinny jeans in another wash but couldn't resist snagging this updated 'Frankie' wash. These have always been pretty true to size for me but I will say: I was a true size 25 for years but have been sizing up to a 26 in most denim lately. The 25 in these still fit perfectly. I know Madewell also tends to suggest sizing down since their denim does stretch. So, if you're in between sizes, size down. To me, these stay fitted through the leg all day long and have a really great cool, comfy, easy fit.
This is that same sleeveless sweater in the 'Naples Yellow' which I also adore. This would be a great color to update your fall wardrobe if (like me) neutrals are typically your thing. It has a rich vibe that looks gorgeous with light and dark denim and would be so sweet tucked into a suede skirt paired with over-the-knee boots. Your holiday outfit, done. ✔️Of course, I love it worn casually.
I had a bunch of questions about these Remi Mules and with good reason. They're classic, cool, effortless and another footwear must-have. I always love this rich English Saddle tone for every season but especially for fall. These are padded and super cushiony and comfortable but do run small. I'm typically an 8 or 8.5 and snagged the 8.5 but could have almost done a 9. I'm thinking they'll mold to my feet pretty easily but do be aware!
I ended up wearing this easy combination for the event and everyone shopping thought I worked there, so I think that's a win. Though it could have also been the fact I was standing next to my little rack and all the snacks.
I love how you could add a bandana to this look for a little bit of extra interest and wear this exact combo with booties for the fall and (California) winter season.
All in all, the Madewell Fall Collection is đź’Żand I hope you guys check it out! I'm adding more of the styles I loved below and would love to hear your thoughts! Any favorites catch your eye?
As always, thank you for reading!
