Gift Guide for Her | My Classic Holiday Wishlist
The biggest thing on my wishlist this year wasn’t something you can buy in a store and it’s not something I’m adding to this wishlist. But it is something I’ve been envisioning and dreaming about…and am beyond excited for. It’s a home. Yard space for Benny and Marlo, somewhere light and bright….a place with more space for us to welcome people into. If you asked me over the last few months what I wanted for Christmas, a home, hands-down, would have been my top pick.
…and we found it! We’ve been in a 1-bedroom apartment for the past two years and while we’ve enjoyed our time there (it’s actually where we met!), we are so excited and ready to be in a bigger space. We’re not ready to buy and will still be renting (thank you, Bay Area, for being so. dang. expensive), but we found something with more space for us and the dogs and can’t wait for this next chapter in a place that really feels like our own home.
Since I feel like a lot of my energy has been going towards sending out good home vibes lately, I haven’t even been thinking about other “things” I might want but it’s still fun to get ideas, so I did put together a quick list of a few holiday things. This list does have some higher priced items but I’m genuinely trying to share things that are timeless, things I genuinely love or things that would be a great addition to any wardrobe. Classic items in case it’s helpful to get ideas for your mom, sister, bff—or you!
Without further ado…here’s…
The Top 10 Classic Things on My Holiday Wish List
To Give Back - I know it’s not a typical thing to put on a holiday gift guide but I’ve been looking for ways to do more and give back and one cause really close to my heart is animals. I was on the West Elm site the other day and found a sweet and easy way to do just that this holiday season. You can buy any of their West Elm x ASPCA Collection and $1 of your purchase will go directly to the ASPCA. The ornaments are really adorable and would be perfect for any animal lover you know or to simply snag something sentimental for yourself this holiday.
Low-Heel Booties - I’ve been trying to streamline my closet lately and have noticed I have tons of booties with 3+ inch heel heights and fewer low-heeled styles that are actually wearable in my everyday life. I still love having a slight heel because I think it tends to look more flattering, but, basically—I need something classic that goes with everything and can bridge the gap between day and night. Sound familiar? Enter the M.Gemi Corsa. These come in several colors and leather/suede options but my favorite is the Mocha Suede. They’re just over 2” which I think is a good in-between.
A Designer Bag - This is a SPLURGE and somewhat unrealistic with a new house, but a girl can dream. I generally purchase within the $150-$300 price range when purchasing higher-end bags but this Chloe Tess Shoulder Bag might be my next dream bag.
Skincare - Sunday Riley Good Genes has truly transformed my skin. Before I started using this product, I honestly wasn’t comfortable going makeup-free. It’s pricey but so worth it. I will gladly accept this for any holiday or birthday and I think it’s a great gift item for a beauty lover—even in a gift set like this one available HERE and HERE which is under $30! You will notice results within the first week, so a smaller size will do.
Perfume - When it comes to gift giving, can you ever really go wrong with perfume? Aerin Beauty Rose de Grasse perfume by Estée Lauder is the most gorgeous, amazing scent I’ve ever smelled. It’s a pricey one and the gorgeous bottle would make a great git. They also have this perfume set, which would be fun.
High-Quality Travel Bags - What’s more appropriate this holiday season than a gift geared for travel? I’ve been swooning over everything Cuyana for a few years now and love this overnight bag and leather travel case set.
Cashmere - I always love having classic sweaters to reach for and a gift doesn’t get much more luxurious than cashmere. I love this Cashmere Crop Mockneck from Everlane and it’s a brand that’s really transparent and admirable. The $100 price point doesn’t hurt either.
Candles - There’s not much better than coming home after a long day and lighting a candle—especially during this season. I adore the scent of this Babe Soy Candle in Rosa from Anthropologie. It’s a subtle floral that’s a little rich but not overwhelming and makes the perfect hostess or holiday favor.
New Sneakers - I love my Nike sneakers and typically get a new pair to workout in every year or two. I’m due for an update and love the colors available in this Nike Free style.
Soft Nude Flats - I practically live in flats and they’re what I wear most for work—even into the colder months. I know these aren’t practical for colder climates but I’ve been eyeing these Via Spiga loafers for a while—and they’re currently on sale!
I hope this was a helpful or interesting read to get you geared up for your holiday shopping and I’m wishing all of you a very happy Thanksgiving, safe travels and a wonderful holiday season!
As always, thank you so much for reading!
