A couple weeks ago I went on my annual Christmas-time trip to one of my very favorite places—Carmel! I've been going to Carmel almost every December since I was a baby (probably even before I was born) and it's one of those places that makes my heart happy, especially around the holidays. I swear you could see *THE* actual Santa (like he was the best Santa I ever, ever saw) at the Plaza there. (It wasn't until recently my parents told me he was kind of a drunk). 

We spent a day doing what we always do—stopped off for french onion soup at Patisserie Boissiere (the best!) before walking through town and hitting all the cute shops and heading to the beach. It started off a little chilly, but by midday, it was so nice with the sun out. This Abercrombie olive sweater with zipper detail was so soft and cozy and I loved it paired these affordable faux leather leggings and my Steve Madden over-the-knee boots. I still LOVE these boots, by the way. I read reviews about them slipping, but have had zero issues. 

You'd think for a blogger I'd be better at taking photos in the moment, but I really tend to forget. Apparently I definitely have a thing for doors and alleyways and can remember to Snapchat my food, though. (eye roll). But I promise Carmel is the cutest little beach town with great shopping, dining and beaches. Have you been? 

We, of course, went out for drinks at 3pm and I made everyone take a photo in front of this here Christmas tree. I think I have my mom to thank for this beautiful, blurry snap of my sister and I. If you ever find yourself in the area, I highly recommend stopping in. It's right by Monterey and a quick drive to two more of my favorite places—Santa Cruz and Capitola!
